In this version of the same layout, the design goes back to the tried and tested wallpaper route as a feature wall covering, and this time the soft bedside illumination glows out from the top of the headboard, and from beneath shallow shelving. A natural color palette is used again in this one, but this time the fresh vivid green accents are the stars of the show.
The raised level allows the view to be enjoyed from the high windows, whilst the lower level creates a feeling of secluded privacy from the outside world. The bespoke seating flip-flops between outward facing to the panorama and inward facing to the room.
This modern kitchen is not fussy or complicated. Instead, a small counter area, with a bar that juts out playfully, gives just enough room to cook a simple meal or enjoy a cup of coffee without a lot of overhead.
This layout provides an angular solution to kitchen meets dining room, where the run of kitchen units morph into dining area storage.
Rooted on the vertical face of a coastal headland, this residence revels in sweeping views of stunning natural surroundings, and is blessed with a mild coastal climate that has allowed for a flowing integration of interior and exterior spaces.
An entire wall has been dedicated to a home library of books, on dramatic dark shelving.
Quirky artwork adorns the wall of the living area.
Massive works of art adorn the wall above the sofa, depicting dramatic landscapes in tones of black and white; these compliment the stark black window frames of the towering dual height windows.

Each dining space in the home is marked out with a run of attractive pendant lights.
Another level was created with the addition of a new mansard roof, to house private quarters with individual rooms. A dressing room, bedroom and bathroom fill the added floor area beneath the slopes. The decision to create a mansard level in the house was made by the architects based on being an easier and cheaper way to attain reconstruction approval, and all of the planning solutions for this home came about in answer to the restricted dimensions of the location.
This black and white interior vision is a striking loft in the complex 'Scheibler' in Lodz, with a useable area of 64 m2. White washed brick walls form a blank canvas, and a huge black sofa parades the perimeter.
The view from one end to the other of the huge living area is completely unobstructed, making the home appear cavernous and perhaps a little cold-though a big splash of color chases the chills away in the form of funky wall art above a dining sideboard.
Aside from making a striking statement, the 'winged' roof provides extra shelter over the outdoor areas, as well as filtering the bright Australian sunlight to the rooms within.
A quirky arrangement of wall cabinets makes the kitchen area appear larger than it's actual proportions, as the added interest drags the eye up and around the room.
Beneath the chunky aged beams of this room lies a layout of modern pieces perched on area defining rugs. Two powder blue accent chairs prevent the rooms palette from becoming too stale, and an injection of green is brought in with the plants and artwork.
This first space explores an open plan lounge through to kitchen area, where we can see the main feature of the piece is an entire wall painted in chalkboard paint. Not only is this wall treatment a great place to dream up your own original quirky wall art that can change on a whim, but it creates a practical surface on which to scribble notes and reminders.
The first stop is the still in progress Lipki apartment, a flat in the old district of Kiev, Ukraine. Inside this dwelling we find a very minimalistic look with stark white walls and low level contemporary sofa. The only color in the entire lounge space come from a little detail in the propped up poster art.
In this airy lounge-diner, all of the main items of furniture have been kept pale to match the walls, which makes the addition of a chartreuse area rug all the more unexpected. The zingy color works beautifully against white, and smaller black side pieces.
Our first visit is to an attic above the old fishermen's harbour of Camogli, a village near Genova. The project, by architectural firm gosplan, aimed to incorporate a living room, a kitchen, a studio, two bedrooms and a bathroom into the flat, despite the awkward shaped gambrel roof and the tiny floor area. The outcome is described as being halfway between existenzminimum (a subsistence dwelling) and a fashionable Le-Corbusierian cabanon.

As is typical now in modern life, an entire wall has been dedicated to home entertainment-though on this occasion the design incorporates an attractive bank of wooden fuel for the fire that has been moved to a second billing position at the side. This shuffling of priorities allows the TV to be enjoyed at the optimum position whilst avoiding heat damage, but still allows the homeowner to enjoy a cozy fireside ambiance as an alternative to the hidden heating system.
Folding doors reveal the formal dining area, providing the perfect opportunity for Christmas guests to migrate back and forth between the mince pies and the mingling.
The flatscreen television has been mounted with its fixings straight through the wall mirror, meaning the power cable and socket can be recessed into the wall and hidden behind the glass for an uncluttered look.
Aqua and yellow hues create a cheerful summertime feel in the lounge area, where a piece of modern wall art matches the soft furnishings.
Try strings of different shaped lights for a fun arrangement.
