Long glazed walls let in a flood of bright natural sunlight, which spills over the hardwood and marble that covers the generous floor area of this beautiful home, giving each area a gleaming luxurious finish.
We start off in the serene living space, where the lounge area floats in the center of the open space like an island–clinging to an area rug, nestled under the bough of an arc lamp.
Headboard feature walls always create a great focal point.
The main saloon of this yacht has been meticulously designed to be a stunning entertaining space.
Contemporary home
A low level modular sofa gives the living room a laid-back feel, and statement items such as the light-cloud Nemo Nuvola over the library section, the anglepoise standing lamp at the sofa, and the casually floor situated large photography piece, all come together to give this home a young image.
A terrace and a swimming pool were also demands of the architectural brief, and the brief was fulfilled and surpassed: A series of pool patios, sun decks and extensive open-air lounge areas culminate into a vast living space, allowing the homeowners to flow freely and comfortably between luxurious indoor and outdoor living.
On the outside of the modern home we see that the building is box-like in shape, thus the interior gains little influence from the architectural layout.
In the kitchen, a tall bank of bright turquoise units have been added to a white and gray cabinet combination, with striking results. In the foreground, we see that the lounge sofa also explores an interesting color contrast within its modules.
The extruded sections of this wooden feature wall are both design and function, becoming shelf space as they swell at the lower half of the wall.
We start with an open plan layout, were the living room has been partially separated from the kitchen diner with the implementation of a simplistic breakfast bar, which runs perpendicular to a built-in bookcase.
The open plan scheme and glazed walls allow the homeowner to see each area of their home without obstruction, yet the staggered layout creates an interesting dynamic that is incredibly welcoming and prevents the house from appearing as an open soulless slab.
This living room stands out from the crowd with an eye-catching rug in shades of fresh green that are carried through into the accent cushions of the armchairs. The red coffee table is a statement contrast of color, and ties in the warmer shades from the kitchen beyond.
This wooden dining suite is brought bang up to date with white edging.
Delicate, subtle pattern dances over backlit white crystal here, appearing as sunlight on glaciers.
A bar area has been devised as the dividing wall between the lounge and kitchen areas, complete with quirky blackboard feature wall and flip-up bar surface.
Extended use can come from incorporating a concealed games table.
Swimming pool
We're starting off with this large bedroom scheme, which showcases custom-built bedroom storage solutions around its perimeter. To accommodate a longer run of closet space, the contemporary bed has been moved away from the main wall, and instead a floating headboard wall has been created with a sheet of thick perspex.
The myriad of things you need to store at your workspace can cause clutter, but hideaway cubbies like these take the stress out of stashing the mess.
Beyond the holiday home's large gardens with mature palm trees and shrubs, the glorious view continues all the way out to the sea. A bank of sun loungers are set to soak up the suns rays on a deck that runs alongside a generous infinity pool.
The luscious scenery that surrounds the home provides a level privacy that is not common in LA properties, which allows the homeowner to peacefully enjoy the seamless indoor-outdoor living experience that is encouraged by the homes huge retractable glass walls.
Scattered dark accents are present to give the overall look some weight, and prevent the result from appearing bland.
An open plan layout allows the internal areas of the home to bask in the views through the houses vast windows.
A minimalistic white slab takes on extra character with the incorporation of a blue splash shaped hollow.
Exterior day beds
The interior embraces a loft feel with exposed brick faces, rustic ceiling beams, industrial ducting, and concrete floors. However, the stark backdrop almost fades away with the introduction of warming woods and plush furniture, amongst the homes pretty landscaped heart.
Black coffee table
A large outdoor living area, complete with three long sofas, adorns the poolside patio to allow the glorious weather to be enjoyed in absolute comfort.
