This dining room scheme uses light neutrals over the walls and light fittings with heavy base notes of brown-black across the furniture for drama, whilst the bedroom below flips the concept by using deep chocolate brown around the perimeter and keeps the large furnishings pale.

Whilst not exactly a child friendly area, due to the obvious lack of a safety boundary, the roof decking provides a perfect platform for entertaining a more adult crowd-providing not too much balance compromising alcohol is involved!

Wood clad walls give the generously proportioned room a cozy cabin feel, reminiscent of times gone by whilst still remaining on trend with modern home interiors. The dwelling is located in La Lucia, Durban, which is the largest city in the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal, and the third largest city in South Africa; Durban has also found fame in being the busiest port in South Africa, though this home is a picture of peace and serenity itself, situated on a seaside retreat right by the water's edge.

Contemporary sitting area
At the front of the home, a towering glass façade overlooks a zen-like courtyard, on the approach to a minimalist entranceway flanked in wood. Slender trees soften the lines of the modernistic architecture and encourage a more naturalistic feel that in turn leads into the pure materials of the interior.
Bedroom with infinity pool
The bedroom sees a mini mezzanine level, to make use of the lofty ceiling height, which is utilized as a small study area. The separation of work zone from the bedroom area creates a more relaxing sleep space once the busy day is done.
